Being a new coach can be daunting! You just started and you know a little bit about social media. Maybe you consider yourself tech savvy and you’ve been around the block in life. Still, you might be thinking “this marketing stuff might be too advanced for me”. or “who is going to follow me?” Whatever stage you may find yourself in right now, there’s a method to the madness.
Learning the way
Maybe you think you can learn it all on your own, but you just need time to study it all. See a lot of people think that this is the way to go, but I call it income-reducing activities. While you may learn some things, you’ll eventually end up going in circles and spending way more than you thought. Or you may not have the support needed.
I want my coaches in my program to succeed more than me. That’s the goal. I want impact.Jacqueline Pfister, 2022
When you learn the way, you’ll finally understand why coaches invest in mentorship. Hundreds if not thousands of successful coaches you see out there didn’t go at it on their own. You can become a successful coach and the world does need people like you!
What should I look for in a mentor?
The first thing you want to look at is, whether they were successful. Success leaves clues. Have they worked with people like you? Do they know what to do if something flops? There are a lot of internet marketing gurus that will just take the money and run. You want to make sure you qualify for your mentor. Did they study Internet Marketing? Did they run their own company? What kind of certificates do they possess? All of these things will help you make the ultimate decision of working with them.
